Efficiency is measured in kWh per 100 miles
Most electric cars use roughly 25 to 40 kWh to travel 100 miles. Smaller cars are at the low end; large SUVs and trucks at the high end. Your car’s screen or fueleconomy.gov shows the figure for your model.
Some energy is lost while charging
Not every kWh from the wall reaches the battery. Allowing about 10% for charging losses gives a more realistic cost than the battery capacity alone.
